RE:GATHER Strategy

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

COVID-19 has brought very real difficulties to everyone and has not left untouched any corner of the globe. But let us remain confident that the mission of God and His church is still vibrant, growing, loving, and multiplying! The mission of Jesus is not deterred. This church, specifically, is still reaching the lost, serving our neighbors, loving each other, and celebrating Jesus. Nothing will prevail against His church -  Nothing!

Yet, we still wonder...when can we gather together?

Gathering together is not only an important function of the church, but it is also deeply important to the health of humans. We will gather again! We will gather for worship, for mission, for connection, and for family.

But when?

It may be a long time before we gather like we did prior to this pandemic. While we look to guidance from our state and local officials, the church has a much higher mandate that includes honoring God and His love for people. This mandate requires us to move forward with wisdom.

Our RE:GATHER Strategy

We have designed a multi stage strategy that is guided by the following:

  • Directives from state and local officials
  • Our assurance we can provide reasonably safe environments for participants and volunteers
  • Available adequate space for gatherings
  • Ability to maintain quality digital Livestream experiences
  • Fully staffed “gathering” teams

When will Discovery Community Church hold it's first in-person worship service?

A final decision has not yet been made.
Originally planned for July 26, 2020. Due to an increase of COVID-19 cases in Pierce County we prayerfully decided to postpone.

What precautions are you taking to keep me and my family safe?

Our top priority is to create a safe and touchless environment for you and your family to worship in. Some of the precautions we’re taking include:

  • Limiting the seating capacity to 25% to allow for proper physical distancing (6 ft minimum)
  • Requiring attendees wear face coverings before, during, and after the service (whether indoor or outdoor) except for children under the age of 2
  • Creating an outdoor seating area for those who prefer open-air spaces
  • Sanitizing all seats between worship services
  • Not allowing food or beverages

How do I RSVP to attend services?

When dates are set, you'll be able to register on our website,

Why do I need to RSVP to attend services?

To ensure proper physical distancing and keep our seating capacity to a safe number.

RSVPs will be on a first-come, first-serve basis for a maximum of 25% of facility capacity. RSVPs will ensure we know you’re coming so that we can prepare a great, safe environment for you and your family.
