Please plan to attend the annual gathering of the Discovery church family. This meeting sets the stage and the direction for the Kingdom work God is preparing us to do in 2025. Everyone is welcome (and strongly encouraged) to attend. Those who have committed as ALL IN members of Discovery will have opportunities to vote and affirm proposals regarding budget and leadership in the coming year.
After the past few belt-tightening post-COVID years, Discovery is continuing to see a resurgence of life, health and growth, and that is reflected in our proposed annual budget as much as in any ministry.
Members will be asked to approve the proposed 2025 budget during our Family Meeting. If you have any questions about the budget before December 15, please contact the Council. (Scroll down to get to know the Council better!)
The Church Council's purpose is defined by Hebrews 10:24. The Council seeks to be a spiritual body, spurring each other on to love and good works, acting as representatives of the church body between business meetings. The Council provides balance between the lead pastor and the church body, existing to share Christ with compassion and develop followers fully devoted to Christ.
The Council meets monthly to address church business, pray and talk over church matters. The Council oversees formal church initiatives such as budget approvals, changes to bylaws, and any other concerns requiring a member vote — including the all-church vote that took place this summer.
Every year we have the opportunity to present new Council nominees for the coming year, with Discovery members approving each by vote during the Family Meeting. This year, we are delighted to propose the following nominees.
