DiscoFest Day Out

Who doesn’t love a field trip?! DiscoFest Day Out combines the best of two annual Discovery events: DiscoFest outdoor worship and the Discovery campout (without the actual camping). We’ll share a barbecue, lake swimming & boating, field games, baptisms, and campfire worship. Save the date to come play with us, and bring friends!

WHAT TO EXPECT / WHAT TO BRING

• GUESTS! This is a perfect event for inviting friends!
• BYO camp chairs and/or blankets. We will have access to some picnic tables, but (hopefully) they won't fit our whole group.
• Water fun! We'll be right on the lake, so bring your suits, your sunblock, and your towels.
• Kayaks, paddleboards and other non-motorized vessels are welcome via the boat launch.
• When you register, you can sign up to bring a side dish, dessert, and/or single-serve beverages for our shared meal (optional).
• There will be an opportunity for baptism for anyone ready to take that step! Let us know that you or your child are interested when you register.

Other things to consider:

• Lightweight jacket for later in the evening
• Bug spray
• Hat, sunglasses, other outdoor/sun gear
• Did we mention GUESTS?

How to find us at Steel Lake:

Enter Steel Lake Park going north from S 312th St.

Continue along the park road. Parking is available on the left as you drive. The road ends at a smaller parking lot with a boat launch (NOTE: non-motorized vessels only are allowed in the lake). This turnaround is a good spot to unload supplies if needed before parking.

Our two reserved spaces are sites 1 & 2 — the two picnic areas closest to the lake, including the gazebo next to the boat launch lot. (See the red stars on the map below).

If in doubt, look for the Discovery signs!

If needed, there is also overflow parking across S 312th.

Set-up will start around 4:00 if you want to come early!
