WHAT TO DO & EXPECT DURING MISSIONS MONTH
(Scroll down to see the full Missions Month schedule.)
FIRST, expect to get excited about missions!
Living on mission begins the moment we step out of our own doors every day. It's the daily work of engaging and investing in the lives of real people in our own circles (wherever God takes us) so that they can see, hear and know Christ in real life, as real life.
As you press into the activities and conversations of Missions Month, we hope you will be stirred to be an integral part of Discovery's commUNITY on mission, and to engage in the specific work and relationships God has inspired Discovery to be a part of.
NEXT, jump in and participate!
Over the next three Sundays, we're offering opportunities to get a taste of what commUNITY on mission at Discovery looks, feels and sounds like.
During our worship services, you'll hear from the people and missions initiatives Discovery has chosen to invest in and partner with.
You'll experience worship in languages and ways you might not be accustomed to — in a room full of other people who might be having the same brand-new experiences as you.
You'll get the chance for shared meals and one-on-one conversations with real, regular people who have given their lives to the cause of Jesus' global commission, both locally (Pierce County, PNW) and globally (Mexico, North Africa, East Africa).
All you have to do is be there!
FINALLY, prayerfully commit to living on mission in 2025!
Our vision is for everyone who is part of Discovery to prayerfully determine how to personally and collectively be “on mission” by learning, praying, giving, or going. Everyone can do something! Our goal in 2025 is to raise $45,000 for the specific partners and initiatives that God has laid on our hearts as tremendous opportunities to fulfill the Great Commission.
On Sunday, November 17, we will gather to declare our personal commitments, and to celebrate our shared commitment to living on mission in the coming year.
