Happy December!

It’s too cold – too gray – and still the most wonderful time of the year.

For the next several weeks – as we approach the celebration of Jesus’ birth, you will receive a daily thought from me.  It will be titled, “All IN.”  “All In” is our 2015 rally cry.

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.  And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Jesus is all in with me. Most days the mirror makes it really hard to understand why. But that is also the beauty of it. The grace of God is so rich, precisely because it requires no help from me! There is nothing I have done or will ever do that will earn God’s smile – I am simply loved. The realization of this is utterly freeing isn’t it? It draws my heart even closer to God – It prompts me to want to live the same way to those around me. Grace – Christ’s unmerited love – is exactly what fuels the “All In.”

My prayer for you today:

“May you taste more personally today God’s grace.  May that grace create a craving for more intimacy with God.  May that grace birth radical generosity today.”
