Stand Firm

April 24th, 2015 | Jon Fredricks

I often hear people talk about their life verse. I honestly don’t have one yet – because there are quite a few in the running. I’d like to share one with you today. It has meant the world to me over the years. And again today, sustains me.

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58

Stand Firm. That’s what we do. When the storms rage, questions come, world falls apart – we stand firm. We stand firm when others buckle. We stand firm when others run. We stand firm when others waffle. We stand firm. We stand firm, not as obstacles but as lighthouses. We stand not to hinder progress, but to champion the grace by which we stand. We stand firm in our resolve that Jesus is always and only the answer for us, our kids, our marriage, our neighborhood, our state, our nation, our culture, our globe. We stand firm! We stand firm on front porches waiting. We stand firm in windows hoping. We stand firm ready to run to the “almost home.” We stand firm believing that the breathing means God is still rescuing. We stand firm in knowing His arm is not too short. If God’s still rescuing, then we’re still believing. If Jesus has not yet returned then I’m not done – we stand firm. We stand firm in the grace, strength, joy, hope, faith, and love that only Jesus provides.  In Him we stand….firm!
